Wikileaks Reveals U.S. Tax Dollars Fund Child Sex... →
“The now infamous Wikileaks recently released a cable from Afghanistan revealing U.S. government contractor DynCorp threw a party for Afghan security recruits featuring trafficked boys as the entertainment. Bacha bazi is the Afghan tradition of “boy play” where young boys are dressed up in women’s clothing, forced to dance for leering men, and then sold for sex to the...

30 die in air disaster as smuggled crocadile... →
“Wildlife smugglers will do just about anything for a quick buck, including sneaking a live predator onto an airplane with no regard for the risk to the animal or fellow passengers. This illegal activity reached a devastating and absurdist extreme recently when a man reportedly smuggled a live crocodile onto a plane departing from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The...

I saw Laura Stevenson and the Cans tonight (they rule) and i found out about a program run by Taco Bell called Feed the Beat. basically providing touring bands with free Taco Bell. thumbs up to free food for touring bands.

some guy just called me during my show to request linkin park or limp bizkit. then i explained we’re not that kind of radio station. then he called blues traveler “jazz.” then he tried to remember the name of their saxophone player. then i hung up.
philosopher/bio-ethicist Peter Singer has on multiple occasions argued in favor of the idea of non-abusive zoophilia, having sex with an animal in a way that should not be considered abuse. he chose to title one of these articles “Heavy Petting.” that is all.

post-punk pet names.
this morning i woke up to one of my neighbors calling her cat or dog or something, apparently the animal’s name was Ian Curtis. tomorrow i will be shouting the names of my favorite post-punk frontmen throughout the streets of my neighborhood.
veganniversary.
one year ago today i cut animal products out of my life. i have been strictly vegetarian and have only been non-vegan when circumstances were particularly prohibitive. easiest major life decision ever.

Lately I’ve been studying Buddhism because I’m on a quest to find some sort of spirituality. Since I’ve had a lot of down time I’ve had a chance to digest a lot of the teachings of Buddhism and read a lot written by the Dalai Lama. I’m really enjoying practicing (or trying to practice) these teachings so I thought I’d share this link.

lord knows i love The Onion, reading it is one of my favorite little rituals of the week. this article sends my affection for it over the edge, i love that The Onion would choose to write a sort of rebuke to Starz regarding the cancellation of my most recent “too good to actually get a fair chance on tv” shows Party Down. i love the article despite the jab at Always Sunny at the...
